How to Create Balance to Live a Better Life

Inner chaos can take many forms in our outer lives, including exhaustion, health problems, financial distress, and relationship issues. The most important thing to understand is that inner chaos is what causes the outer chaos (not the other way around). From an energetic standpoint, the person’s strength, balance, and protection have been compromised.

Here are 5 signs you're out of balance:

You find yourself reacting to everything, including things people say and to conditions outside your control.

You have lingering unidentified health issues, such as fatigue, and/or symptoms that change regularly.

Your life has taken on an erratic flow and it feels as if life is “happening to you” and everything is at the mercy of chance.

Every little thing becomes an emergency in your mind.

Your business is struggling, clients are canceling, or you are attracting all of the wrong people to you.

If your outer life is in chaos right now, you may feel overwhelmed and believe there is nothing you can do to achieve inner balance. Don’t believe that thought!

What exactly is feng shui?

It's a practice based on the idea that our homes are a mirror of what's happening inside us. The purpose of feng shui is to get your environment in alignment with who you are and where you want to go—to harmonize your energy with your home's energy.

Balancing with feng shui in your space

The five elements of feng shui are water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. Each element brings forth its own properties, and when in balance they become the building blocks of a happy, healthy home. However, people tend to gravitate to two or three of the elements in their homes, leaving the rest by the wayside. Every element has positive attributes, but when we have too much of certain ones, we're tipping the scales and promoting feelings of anxiousness and tension.

Wood represents open-mindedness and new beginnings.

Bring wood into your space with lush plants, flowery prints, the color green, and vertical shapes.

Fire represents passion and enthusiasm.

Add fire with abundant lighting, candles, triangular shapes, leather and fur, depictions of animals and people, and the colors red, orange, and burgundy.

Earth represents growth and stability.

Add earth with square objects, ceramics, and earthy colors like yellow, cream, or tan.

Metal represents planning and efficiency.

Add metal with round or ovular shapes, metal accents, stones, and white, gray, or silver colors.

Water represents wisdom and truth.

Add water with a small fountain, art that represents the ocean, black and glossy objects, and free-flowing shapes and patterns.

Hope this helps with creating balance in your space.

Until next time,

Shana :)
